Preparing your files for print
Properly prepared files will mean a faster turnaround of your print job. Please read the following notes to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Send PDF (Acrobat) files if possible. Ensure that you use the "High Quality" or "Press Ready" option when creating your PDF. Embedded pictures should be at a resolution of 300dpi (120 pixels per cm), and compression should be set to "High Quality Jpeg". For full colour printing, separation should be on and set to "CMYK". Allow for bleed if necessary (see below).

impress-printing.co.uk can accept many file types including:
PDF (Acrobat), Quark xPress, InDesign, Freehand, Illustrator, Photoshop, Pagemaker, Word, Publisher, PagePlus etc. If possible run "Collect for output" to ensure you include all necessary files (linked pictures etc.) in one folder. Then for faster upload to our server, compress the folder using "Zip", "Stuffit" or similar compression tool.

Digital Photos
These should be taken with the "High Resolution" setting on your camera.

Scanned Photos
Scan photos at a resolution of 300dpi (120 pixels per cm) and save as high quality Jpeg.

Bleed
It is not possible to print all the way to the edge of the paper sheet. To achieve this effect it is necessary to print a larger area than is required and then trim the paper down. If you want your job to extend right to the edge of the paper, the background colour or image must over-run the edge of your page by about 2mm.
